Creative HeARTS Program
Creative
HeARTS is a structured program for individuals with mental and/or
physical disabilities, providing an opportunity to work with
a variety of artists media and craft materials. Furthering the
expression of creativity and encouraging each person to express
their creativity in the completion of their projects. Creative
HeARTS is open to persons who are 14 years of age or older and
have physical and/or mental limitation.
What
Does It Cost?
The cost is typically $5.00 per class, which
is approximately one hour. This fee includes instruction and
materials. Aides and others who are assisting students participating
in the program are welcome to attend at no charge.

All classes are on Wednesdays and begin at 1:30
pm and end at 2:30 pm. Please call 814.927.6655 to register
- June 4 – Spring Tulips – put
together and paint a three-tulip wooden door or wall hanging
to celebrate spring.
- June 11 – Pegged Wall Shelf – decorate
this useful decorative wooden shelf.
- June 25 – Coffee Filter Flower Plaque – make
a unique decorative plaque using coffee filters.
- July 2 – Beaded Pins – make
beaded pins for yourself or to give as a gift.
- July 9 – Soap Painting – paint
bars of soap to decorate your powder room.
- July 16 – Paper Flowers – create
a lovely bouquet of tissue paper peonies.
- July 23 – Bath Salts – Mix
up and package pretty and good smelling bath salts for your
bath.
- July 30 – Bird Houses – paint
a decorative bird house.
- August 6 – Decorative Hats – Decorate
a straw hat to hang on a wall or door.
- August 13 – Candles – We
will be making ice candles.
- August 20 – Puffy Pumpkins – make
some neat fabric pumpkins.
- August 27 – Christmas Ornaments – Make
a variety of ornaments using some unusual items.
